Ashwagandha Extract Tablets
Our Ashwagandha Extract Tablets deliver 200 mg of Withania somnifera root extract per tablet, standardized to 5% withanolides, which works out to a measured 10 mg of withanolides in every serving. Each tablet also carries 10 mg of organic black pepper fruit powder. One tablet is one serving, and each bottle holds 30 tablets.
Ashwagandha is the most widely used adaptogenic botanical in Ayurvedic practice, and the tablet is the simplest way to take it. No measuring, no dropper, no bitter taste. One tablet is a fixed, repeatable serving.
About Ashwagandha
Withania somnifera is known in English as winter cherry or Indian ginseng, though it is not botanically related to true ginseng. It belongs to the nightshade family, and it is the root that is traditionally prepared. In Ayurveda it is classed as a rasayana, a rejuvenating tonic, and it has been in continuous use for more than three thousand years.
Its characteristic compounds are the withanolides, a family of naturally occurring steroidal lactones. Withanolide content is the standard measure of an ashwagandha extract’s strength, which is why ours is standardized rather than sold on raw root weight alone. A bottle that lists only milligrams of powder tells you nothing about how much active material you are actually getting.
Why Black Pepper Is In The Formula
Each tablet includes 10 mg of organic black pepper (Piper nigrum) fruit powder. Black pepper is a traditional Ayurvedic pairing for root preparations, and it is included here as a formulation companion rather than as an active ingredient in its own right. It is the same reasoning behind the classic trikatu combinations found throughout Ayurvedic practice.
Tablets Or Tincture
We offer ashwagandha in two formats and they suit different people.
The tablet is fixed at 200 mg of extract, taken one at a time, tasteless and portable. The tincture is a liquid you can dose in fractions of a millilitre and stir into a drink. If you want repeatability and convenience, take the tablet. If you want to fine-tune your serving, take the tincture.
